This is a very beautiful and moving film in the Kids on the Silk Road series that looks at Hnin, an 11-year old girl from a village in Myanmar, and her aspiration to become a nun.
Hnin lives with her family in a small village, and one day during a trip to the local temple, she hears a talk given by a nun there, and she is inspired to seek ordination and become a nun herself so as to dedicate her your life to making good karma.
Her parents are supportive, though they do try to ensure she understands what it will entail. Once she is sure, she goes with her family and with her friend and ordains, and starts living the life of a nun. Eventually though she misses her family too much and returns home.
The film is very well-made and unintrusive, it lets Hnin and her family tell their stories, without trying to frame them one way or another. I was very impressed by the family who support her when she ordains, and also welcomes her when she returns. One really feel they are there for her all the way.
