Luang Pu Plang Suntharo

A look at the life of Luang Pu Plang Suntharo, and his predecessor, Luang Pu Fan, at Wat Pa Udom Somporn, in Sakon Nakhon Provice in Thailand, at the simple life of a forest monk, and the contrast it is in the modern world.

Luang Pu Plang, who is now 95 years old, was ordained in the tradition of Luan Pu Mun, and as of 2025 has been ordained for 73 years. He moved to Wat Pa Udom Somporn in 1963, and became abbot there in 1978.

The video tells us something about Luang Pu Fan, who founded the monastery, and has effectiuvely used AI to animate old photos of the Ajahn, but it mainly focuses on Luang Pu Plang Suntharo, and his teachings, which he is still giving even at his advanced age.
