Land of Buddha

Posted on September 21, 2012 by Dharma Documentaries
An interesting documentary visiting many of the main archeological sites in India connected with Buddhism

This is a very interesting documentary made by Abha Dayal for the Indian Government looking at the archeological sites in India connected with Buddhism.

Land-of-Buddha-Map

The film visits many of the main sites: Lumbini, Kapilavastu, Piprahwa, Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Rajgir, Srawasti, Vaishali, Kushinagar, Barabra, Nalanda and Sanchi.

It shows the archeological ruins, activities at the various sites and explains something about the Life of the Buddha and Buddhist History, and there are also some short interviews with pilgrims from different lands.

I found the film quite informative and even meditative at times, and it is worth anyone’s time to spend an hour watching the film and reflecting on the impermanence of all human endeavour.
