Legacies-of-History-in-Kyoto

A look at some of the mainly Buddhist World Heritage Sites and National Treasures around Kyoto, this short documentary visits such famous places as the Shimogama, Kamigamo and Ujigami Shrines; and the Kiyomizu, Toji, Mt Hiei Enryaku and Nannaji Temples.

The film, which is beautifully shot by the Kyoto Digital Museum, has some short introductions to the history and importance of each of the sites. The documentary advertises itself as the first in a series, but the rest seem never to have been made or published, despite there being 700+ videos on the Kyoto YouTube Channel.
