This is a very interesting film about the present state of the remains of the Gandharan Civilisation in Pakistan, and an appeal for its preservation and protection. It is also an effort for education about heritage, to promote better understanding amongst peoples of the region.
The film is presented by Fazal Khaliq, and features short interviews with Dr. Abdul Samad Khan, Director of KP Archeology & Museum, Dr. Luca Maria Olivieri, Head of the Italian Archaeological Mission, and others who lay out the case for better efforts to be made in Pakistan for preservation and opening of the sites for tourism.
The sites have importance for Buddhists because of the extensive Gandhāran remains in the country, such the Butkara Stūpa, Amlook Dara Stūpa and other places, as well as other remains like extensive statuary in the museums, which is hardly touched upon in this film.
