Return of the Lotus-Born Master

Posted on July 22, 2022July 22, 2022 by Dharma Documentaries
A look at the activities of Guru Rinpoche in the sacred land of Bhutan (with EN and ZH subtitles)

Return of the Lotus-Born Master

Bhutan was one of the places where Guru Padmasambhava made a big impact, and his activities are now embedded in the landscape of the country as well as the hearts of the people.

As Guru Padmasambhava was giving his teachings his consort Yeshe Tsogyal recorded them and hid them in various places throughout the country, including in hidden kingdoms.

A Terton is a Treasure-Revealer who, along with his Dakini, or consort, can find these teachings and reveal them to the world, and this episode shows the central place of the Dakini in Tibetan Buddhism.

We get the same mix of beautifully shot visuals, interviews with both lay and monastic masters, and modern computer generated graphics as in the first film, and it is all superbly edited together to conjure up a world of possibilities hidden in the world around us.
