Hidden Treasure Of Bön

Posted on March 24, 2017April 7, 2017 by Dharma Documentaries
A second film about Geshe Geleg's journeys to Mustang to discover the ancient traditions of Bön.

Hidden Treasure Of Bön

This is the second of the films in which we see Geshe Gelek Jinpa trying to rediscover and revitalise the Bön traditions in Nepal.

In this film we see him travel again to the remote kingdom of Mustang to observe the Bön traditions that are still being practiced there.

Along the way he comes across scriptures which have been uncovered from caves in Mustang by a team working with National Geographic, which I featured here before (see the list below the film).

Besides this important discovery we also see Geshe Gelek finding more Bön scriptures in one half-abandoned temple, and cleaning them up and protecting them, and seeing ancient traditions being kept alive in this region.
