Ancient Superstructures, Angkor Wat

Posted on November 10, 2023November 10, 2023 by Dharma Documentaries
How the largest temple in the world was built, and why it is still standing 900 years later.

Ancient Superstructures Angkor Wat

The building of Angkor Wat is one of the most incredible achievements of the medieval world. The temple is estimated to be constructed from 10 million tons of stone.

So many questions arise as to how they could have moved some massive amounts of materials, and how did they build them up into the gigantic structure we see today, and what was the infrastructure around the temple.

With the help of modern science in the past decade some of the answers to these questions have been discovered, and this film looks at the amazing technology that was employed by the builders.

This is one of the best films on the marvel that is Angkor Wat and the civilisation that built it, revealing many hidden facets of the story. It is also good to see so many scholars, including Cambodians, leading the research into the ancient history of the largest temple in the world.
