Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok

Posted on August 26, 2019August 26, 2019 by Dharma Documentaries
A film explaining the buildings, sculptures, statues, reliefs and paintings at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.

Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok

This is another of the very informative films by Walid Haddad which I have featured here before. This one concerns the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok. it was once the King of Thailand’s residence, and Grand Palace.

The film gives a tour of some of the major buildings within the compound, and tells when they were built and by whom, and explains some of their major features. It really makes me want to return there again!

Nearly every photograph is accompanied by explanatory text, and there is a lot of research gone into making each of Walid’s films, which I highly appreciate.

The film looks at the buildings, sculptures, statues, reliefs and paintings that are found inside the complex, and I would recommend the film for anyone planning to visit.
