This is a film quite similar to the one we saw last week in which we see experts from various specialties, including health, nutrition and sports all support a move to a plant-based diet.
One of the leading experts called on this week also appeared prominently last week: Dr T. Colin Campbell, but most of the others, and there are many who are interviewed, are new to this film.
The film follows the film-maker Michal Siewierski’s own personal voyage of discovery as he enquires into various aspects on a healthy, and unhealthy, diet. He himself was vastly overweight till he started eating a plant-based diet, and is now back in shape.
The film looks at many of the aspects involved with our eating habits: the impact on health and the environment; the muscle that lobbyists can wield to get legislation passed; the money spent on marketing to convince people to eat poorly, but profitably.
We also see somewhat the terrible situation for animals who are the victims of the industry, and the dredging of the oceans which is laying them bare.
What comes across, of course, is that this is not a lifestyle that is sustainable for either the humans eating this way, or for the environment, and there really is strong need for people to change their habits before it is too late.
