This is a French film about the area of the Wudang Mountains in China, which is sacred to Taoism. The narration is in French, but there are subtitles in over 20 languages, including English.
It is a very intelligently made film, which focuses on Wudang, its surroundings, and the culture that has spread throughout China, including such arts as calligraphy, medicine, music; as well as Tai Qi and Qi Gong.
It also gives something of a history of Taoism in China, and records present day practitioners, such as a hermit living on the mountains, and the nuns of the Quanzhen order, who perform full-scale ceremonies in the Purple Cloud Temple.
One thing to be noted is that the English subtitles are absent from the 29th-35th minute. After a minute or two more it runs through the titles at breakneck speed. This is rather unfortunate, but the timing of it is when they are talking about food, so it is probably the least possible loss for our purposes.
