These are four separate tours of the Magao Caves at Dunhuang, led by different guides from the Dunhuang Academy, and showing a range of times they were built in, and the different styles that were used.
It would splendid to go there in person, but the fact that most of the caves are now kept shut in order to better preserve them puts me off. So tours from experts in the field is the next best thing.
The caves chosen are some of the most iconic at Magao and the guides explain some of the scenes found on the walls, with reference to the Jātaka stories and the Life of the Buddha story; as well as describing the sculptures and other features of the caves.
