Lhasa, Tibet (Expoza)

Posted on January 2, 2017January 2, 2017 by Dharma Documentaries
A guide around Lhasa, the ancient capital of Tibet, to see its main attractions, including many temples and monasteries.

Lhasa (Expoza)

This is from a series of films by Global Television shot all over world, giving well photographed introductions to various places, of which we will be focusing on the ones of interest to Buddhists.

The films are quite light introductions to their subjects, mainly good photography, well chosen soundtracks, and a reasonable, but sometimes inaccurate, narration giving a cultural and historical introduction to its subject.

This week the team are in and around Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, and looking at all the main attractions there, from the temples to the markets, and more.

They start their trip by walking around the Barkhor and visiting the most holy shrine in Tibet the Jokhang; they also visit the nuns’ monastery, the Ani Tsang Khung, to see daily life there.

Around and about they visit the Norbuling Ka, Ramoche, and the Tibet Museum, before conitnuing the journey to some of the famous monasteries: Drepung, Ganden and Sera; and at the end they return to the heart of Lhasa and to the Potala Palace.
