Jokhang, Tibet (Expoza)

Posted on April 15, 2019April 15, 2019 by Dharma Documentaries
A look around the precincts and inside the sacred temple of Jokhang in Lhasa, Tibet.

Jokhang, Tibet (Expoza)

This is from a series of films by Global Television shot all over world, giving well photographed introductions to various places, of which we will be focusing on the ones of interest to Buddhists.

The films are quite light introductions to their subjects, mainly good photography, well chosen soundtracks. Some, like this one, have no narration, but just take a look at their subject.

This short film is from the heart of Lhasa, and the most sacred temple in Tibet, the Jokhang. Here we first see the outer courtyards with its massed pilgrims and visitors.

Then eventually we go inside the temple and see some of the magnificent artworks and sculptures that decorate the temple, both inside and on top of the building, from where there is a view of the Potala Palace.
