We now come to the final part of these 9 hour-long videos retelling the story of Sudhana’s journey to Awakening and beyond, and it has really been a wonderful sustained feat of story-telling by Walid Haddad. This is really a great accomplishment, and will stand the test of the ages.
The last of the videos focuses on the verses at the end of the Gaṇḍavyūha, entitled the Bhadracāripraṇidhāna (The Aspiration fior the Good Life). In it we see Sudhana and Samantabhadra making offerings to the Buddhas, and sometimes Samantabhadra is the subject of the offering.
The reliefs in this video are in a better state of preservation overall, and the themes are more clearly delimited, so I would suggest if you haven’t been able to watch them all, then try and watch this one, as it is inspiring, and you can see the amazing detail the sculptors at Borobudur were able to achieve.
