Women of Fukushima

Women of Fukushima

A couple of weeks ago I introduced a documentary called the Children of the Tsunami which looked at the tsunami and nuclear meltdown at Fukushima through the eyes of children who survived it.

This week there is a similar sort of film, but this time looking at some of the women who have become radicalised following the events at Fukushima and are now fighting for an end to nuclear power in Japan.

The group’s name is, as the title of the documentary, Women of Fukushima, and we hear about the effect the events in 2011 have had on them, and why they want things to change.

The film is in Japanese, but with English subtitles provided by one of the filmmakers, Jeffrey Jousan. The film is uploaded to Vimeo by the producer Paul Johannessen.
