John D. Liu

This is another of the documentaries by John D. Liu, working under the auspices of the U.N., showing the possibility of renewing degraded lands around the world.

In this episode he concentrates on Rwanda, which has faced quite devastating problems in the modern era, which, besides other things, has increased environmental degradation.

Now there are projects to show that it is possible to increase development for the burgeoning population by protecting the land, rather than destroying it.

The crew also visit nearby Kenya to see the work that has been done there to rehabilitate an area of land previously degraded about as far as it can go, but which is now a flourishing ecosystem.
