This is a film from 1999 by Frame of Mind Films who are specialising in documentaries about Tibet and Tibetan nuns and women.
It follows the nuns of the Khachoe Ghakyil Ling nunnery in Nepal, set up by Lama Zopa to give full monastic education to nuns of the Tibetan tradition.
There are scenes from their home monastery and from a fund-raising tour they made in the USA, complete with interviews with a number of the nuns.
The film shows the nuns performing traditional Tibetan arts, like monastic dance and chants; and also building a mandala.
This film was made 15 or more years ago, but Frame of Mind have continued their activities supporting and recording Tibetan nuns over the years and are currently engaged in making a trilogy of films.
Trailers for the films about Women of Tibet can be seen here and here; and there is also a fund raising page on their website here. If you feel you could help please contribute here.
To help the monks and nuns from these monasteries following the Nepal earthquake, please see the website for the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.
