King Bhumibol of Thailand, The People’s King

Posted on December 8, 2014October 24, 2016 by Dharma Documentaries
A documentary telling the story of the life of King Bhumibol of Thailand in narration, photos and film

The People's King

This is a recent History Channel film about King Bhumibol of Thailand. The film follows the story through from birth to around 2012.

The story is told mainly through stills, film clips and narration. However there are no interviews and the style is a bit tiring in the end.

Still we do find out quite a lot about the King, and mainly, but not always, in chronological order.

The emphasis is on recounting the King’s good works and his position amongst the people, and there is no critical evaluation in the film.

The film covers his overseas birth and education, his artistic endeavours and the many works he has engaged in to help develop his country and alleviate the suffering of his people.
