A film that follows Michael Stone on his unusual pilgrimage to Japan in 2012.

Reactor with Michael Stone

In 2012 the Canadian Zen Teacher and activist, Michael Stone, went on an unusual pilgrimage to Japan, not to visit temples so much as to see how a people cope with one of the biggest natural disasters in modern time, the tsunami with killed over 100,000 people, and the consequent nuclear melt-down at Fukushima.

This short film follows Michael as he visits Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Tokyo and we hear from various people who have been affected by the disaster, whether activists, scientists or ordinary people living in the vicinity.

We also hear from a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing who talks about her exeprience, and how it has marked her life, and are able to contemplate how interconnected we all are, which is really the theme of the film.
