This is a very interesting talk given by Prof. Bruce Greyson of the University of Virginia in Dharamsala, India in 2011 at an event organised by the Tibetan educational community Science for Monks.
In the talk Prof. Greyson examines the evidence for their consciousness existing separate from the brain, and looks at it from four different points of view: Deathbed recovery of consciousness, complex consciousness with minimal brain, near-death experiences, and memories of past lives.
Prof. Greyson succeeded the well known past life researcher prof. Ian Stevenson at the University of Virginia and has been exploring these areas for the past 4 decades, and ably presents the evidence for his hypothesis in this talk.
The talk itself lasts for around an hour, and is followed by a question and answer session, with Tibetan Geshes and others.
