Women Who Make America 3: Charting a New Course

Posted on November 27, 2013November 27, 2013 by Dharma Documentaries
The third part of a 3-part mini series giving a social history of the women's movement in America.

Women who make America

In the final part of the series about the progress of the women’s movements in America, we see how following some retrenchment during the 80s women once again began opening new opportunities for themselves during the 90s.

Women became successful in what were once closed occupations, and started taking power in the boardroom and in political office, pushing forward into new areas of concern.

One of these is the position of women not just in America, but throughout the world, where they are usually the most oppressed of the oppressed. The series deliberately focuses on American social history, but there really was a need to say more about this issue which only really gets a passing mention.
